Im going to....

Share something with you.
I am a girl. (duh Kelsey) and I am SIX FOOT FIVE. Yah life can be pretty rough sometimes when your this tall as a girl, like when you want a new boyfriend, or a pair of jeans, or maybe just to blend into the background... And people can sometimes be assholes. And say mean stuff.
But you know what?
I relized something today that I want to tell everyone!!!
If you have read some of my blog posts you notice I crave adventure and freedom... but am tied down..
Well I think god made me this tall so I wouldnt blend in with the 'norm' crowd and be just another person. He made me how I am so I can stick out and boldly Stand out and do something different, make a change and be unique. So I could be remembered and make a statement to THE WORLD.
So I wanna give a big shout out to the man up stairs for making me how and who I am. Thanks God, your the man.

I just finished reading...

Sarah's Key
It was a great book that kept you on your toes, makes you laugh cry and just ache. It was a wonderful book that is now a movie and I cannot wait to see the movie!! The book jumps back and forth from today times to 1942 during WWII in France and talks of the Holocaust and what part France played in Hitlers Genocide. I recomend this read!

I want to..

Run away, escape college, expectation, judgement, family, and social pressure with a vintage
1951 13-ft Comet trailer pulled by my jeep with a dog and the top down oh and my camera too, but no laptop or tv or cell phone with internet, and just go!! Live like a gypsie and when I get low on cash I will stop and find a job until I have enough money to leave again and maybe one day find a spot I love and live there. But I hate this city life, and not only do I have to go to college but I have to play basketball there too (Because college is expensive!!!) I want to see and experince everything before there is even the slightest chance of getting pinned down by "The man" in a 9-5 hell hole. (Thats my worst  fear by the way) So here are some pictures... because I can.

Why are you...

Still sitting there?? I mean im not saying im not thrilled your actually reading my blog, cause I AM! But seriously get up and  go DEVOUR  LIFE!!
Oh and tell me all about what you go devour!!
(No animals should be injured in this challenge.)

Scones!

I woke up this morning HUNGRY like the, "was the last time I ate a year ago" hungry. So I went to the trusty internet and found this recipe and holy shit. Best breakfast anything I have EVER made. So enjoy! But get ready to get dirty, its hands on scone time!
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1/3 cup sugar

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, frozen

  • 1/2 cup raisins (or dried currants)

  • Zest of one orange

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1 large egg

  • Directions

    1. Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and preheat oven to 400 degrees.
    2. In a medium bowl, mix flour, 1/3 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Grate butter into flour mixture on the large holes of a box grater; use your fingers to work in butter (mixture should resemble coarse meal), then stir in raisins and orange zest.
    3. In a small bowl, whisk sour cream and egg until smooth.
    4. Using a fork, stir sour cream mixture into flour mixture until large dough clumps form. Use your hands to press the dough against the bowl into a ball. (The dough will be sticky in places, and there may not seem to be enough liquid at first, but as you press, the dough will come together.)
    5. Place on a lightly floured surface and pat into a 7- to 8-inch circle about 3/4-inch thick. Sprinkle with remaining 1 tsp. of sugar. Use a sharp knife to cut into 8 triangles; place on a cookie sheet (preferably lined with parchment paper), about 1 inch apart. Bake until golden, about 15 to 17 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes and serve warm or at room temperature.
Thanks to Allrecipes.com for the idea.

Let me start off by saying...

    IM NO ARTIST
BUT, I believe anyone can make art. I am so in love with all the mixed media artwork I thought, "What the hell?"  And tried my hand at it and was plesently surpirsed at the outcome, for my wee little artless brain its pretty good. Post your mixed media I would love to see it!!

    When it comes to love....

    I'm such a cynic
    cyn·ic/ˈsinik/Noun
    1. A person who believes that people are motivated purely by self-interest rather than acting for honorable or unselfish reasons.
    2. A person who questions whether something will happen or is worthwhile.
I dont believe in that bullshit love story or marriage and etc... But when it comes to love movies and romance I just cant get enough. I think it is all so endearing and romantic, but in my mind its all just fiction. I could spend all day watching the old VHS Disney movies with a nice huge bowl of double fudge brownie ice cream in my sail boat PJ bottoms, and be completely happy. But then think about romance in "real life" and realize it doesn't actually exists.  When was the last time you actually got a hand written letter? Well if your realizing that people besides, the electric company and your Great Aunt Delilah can send mail then it's been too long! Remember in Aladdin when he rescued Jasmine from the market? And the big bad man got in the way and Aladdin made a few mistakes and lies but kept fighting to be with Jasmine and in the end it all worked out and they rode off into the sunset on a magic carpet?

What about Hercules? One of my favorite movies EVER and the Damsel is in, (can you guess it?) distress and the hero saves her. And all ends well with love, kisses and

How about another movie? Ohh what about Snow White? Trapped by the evil witch in an eternal sleep and the prince rescues her... surprise.. surprise..

I've lost the point to this rant... so

Mustaches seem to be taking off lately and we wonder if it is the idea of the mustache or the real man's mustache? Because lets be honest mustaches are hilarious. And I love them in a metaphorical not on my boyfriend type of thing.  Also mustache jewlery and tee-shirts are 100% APPROVED! For example my new robot neclace from hot topic:

Now lets all be real here, you have to have the right face, class and personality to pull of the stache, so here are a few wins and a few fails:

But what about the lady stache?

But after all the mustache hubble jubble what about beards?? This man below pulls off the beard look 100% making him look well interesting, dont you want to talk to him and find out his life story?

    YOU are beautiful CHALLENGE

Have you ever gotten a compliment from someone out of the blue on a day you look or feel just like crap? I bet you have, and I bet you can remember the exact place, what that person looked like and just how it made you feel.
Compliments seem to be reserved only for special ocasions or close friends.
Well friends, I say WHY? Why should we only tell people we know or love that they look great or smell great or ARE great?? I know we have all seen someone in the store or on the street and thought, boy I love that outfit and instead of telling that stranger we love it we may get envious with the green monster.
So my challenge to you is to tell a stranger that they look great today, even if they dont look great give them a compliment of some sort like, you smell nice or have a great happy ora, ok the ora is a bad example but im sure you can think of something! And comment or email me (wwflatstanley@gmail.com) and tell me what happend, how they responded, how it made you feel. Or tell me about a time you were complimented and how it made you feel.
Thanks for reading friends and good luck!

    Easy riccota spinach stuffed chicken

Today my Aunt/ roommate told me we were having one of her friends into town for the night and asked if I would like to make dinner for them, can you guess my answer?
    It was a "YES!"
While browsing the blogs I love to follow I found this simple easy recipe and tweaked it just a little and YUMMY!!
    Thanks so much, fortheloveofcooking-recipes.blogspot.com

    You'll need;
2 cup of low fat ricotta cheese

A Good handful of baby spinach, chopped

A Good handful of grape tomatoes, halved

    1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

1 tbsp spice mix, I like Mrs. Dash

    1Tbsp lime juice

    1 clove of garlic, minced

Sea salt and freshly cracked pepper, to taste

    Dash of oregano

    4 chicken breasts

    Bread crumbs

    2 tsp olive oil

    1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt

First things first, mix together: spinach, tomato, garlic, Mrs. Dash, lime juice, Parmesan, Ricotta cheese, and Oregano in a small-medium sized bowl.

    Preheat your oven to 400'
After that is done bring out your chicken breast and slice them down the middle side so they become a little pocket, and STUFF those babies with our Ricotta mixture! And we are going to just secure them with some toothpicks along the edge, but dont forget to take them out when you are done cooking!!!

In a seperate bowl dump your bread crumbs and in another bowl put the yogurt.
We are going to coat the chicken in the yogurt and then bathe it in bread cumbs, until fully covered, yummmm.

Alright now we are going to pan sear the chicken in an oven proof skillet lightly coated in oil (I like to use my cast iron skillet.) /For about 2-3 minutes then flip and send them straight to the oven for 20-25 be sure the chicken is no longer pink.
Let the meat take a little break and rest for 5 minutes before serving.
    Enjoy!!
    Enjoy!!

"Your going to have to pay for that..."

Have you ever broken something in a store and ended up paying for something and having to take home  rediculously ugly broken iteam?
Well friends, I have very recently I was in an antique store, very crowded and broke a DOOR! Who does that? A whole door my sneaky thieving purse knocked it over. So I bought it and as I was angling this door in every way possible into my VW bug saying a few choice words.... I thought why not reuse, and recycle?? So I brought home this ugly thing and took out whatever DIY idea the previous owner had and saw the light! I re painted it and put in my own 'art' I hope you enjoy! I put in my antique clock into the window I broke.
